I am 5’9" 140 pounds looking to go between 5:05-5:15 on the bike at IM Arizona in November. What do you think would be the best wheel setup combo for the race:
404 Clinchers
404 Tubulars
808 Clinchers
808 Tubulars
Hed Jet 60 Clinchers
Hed Tri-spoke Front/Jet 90 Rear Clinchers
Zipp Sub 9 Disc Tubular
808 + Sub9 if you’re strong, and drink the jackmott cool-aid.
If it were me, I’d rock out with 404 tubs, cause I like how they feel opposed to heavier wheels and discs. But that would be “wrong” from an aero-weenie perspective.
come on now
the jackmott coolaid is perfectly ok with a 404 front
or even a rear
just put a cover on it

IMAZ is a fairly flat course and the Nov race is considerably less windy (wind was a non-issue last Nov)…808 front-Sub9 rear.
IMAZ was always 808 front/ disc rear even in April … the only way to fly at IMAZ. Anything else is just not right
