IMAZ registration opens 4/17

…but they still haven’t finalized a bike course.

 TEMPE, Ariz.-The 2006 Ironman Arizona Triathlon will open to general entry at 12:01 a.m. Sunday, April 17 (Pacific Standard Time).  

The event will take place on Sunday, April 9, 2006 in Tempe and the surrounding area.

The 2005 event featured more than 1,800 athletes from around the world competing for 80 qualifying spots to the 2005 Ironman World Championship, as well as a $75,000 pro prize purse.

Athletes can enter by logging onto www.ironmanarizona.com and clicking the entry button.

A new bike course for the event is currently being designed with two different two-loop options being looked at. Look for the final announcement on the bike course in the near future.

“We have had very positive discussions with all the communities involved on a different bike course,” said Ironman North America President Graham Fraser. “We are excited and look forward to Tempe being a great annual event for us.”
