IM Wisconsin and IM Cozumel

Hi All

Has anyone done both IM Wisconsin and IM Cozumel (not necessarily in the same year), and if you have can anyone give any ‘insight’ about how they compare/differ?
Reason for asking is that im doing Cozumel and did Wisconsin earlier, so any insight on what to expect (time, route, spectators, organization etc) would be great.

And i know that they (hopefully) are similar in terms of distance and that it depends on the weather (so no need to post that :))

I’ve done both. I’m from Wisconsin and have done IMWI multiple times and have did Coz in 2009. They are completely different. The ocean swim at Coz was great although it was short. My swim was 8 minutes faster at Coz. The bike at Coz is the complete opposite of WI. Flat, smooth, and windy on one side of the island. The run is much easier too. Fairly straight with the out and backs and no real elevation gain. I really like Coz as it was much different from anything else I’ve done. For reference I went 11:34 at WI and 11:00 at Coz that same year.
