IM Pro Series 2026

Loevseth’s win and Matthews’ DNF mean they are v close on 7385 and 7500.
Berry is on 7665 but those are from two IMs (so she’s ‘lost’ 2335).
Matthews dilemma is whether she can fit a replacement IM into her schedule which was >2 months to Roth and another >2 months to Nice. She may choose to let it go. Decent results at Nice and Kona would get her #4 (my estimate) only scoring 4 events. Racing Aix or Elsinore (for 2500) before Roth would likely get her a shot at #2 (behind Loevseth).

Loevseth will race IM Hamburg (against Philipp and maybe Derron - I’m assuming LCB will delay till late and choose a lower tier race to validate at). Loevseth also said she would race Swansea (mid July) and might race Aix next month (not clear why, except why not).

Doubt she will try to fit in another IM. She was more explicit this year saying WC is her ultimatum goal. Eye on the ultimate prize

The next IM Pro Series race is 70.3 Aix-en-Provence: 12 days away.
The start list has still not been published.
I assume that Stornes and Iden will race but Blummenfelt will not (the latter already has a 2500 and a spare). A number of other top men surely will race Aix - the French?
Loevseth said she might race, or wait till Swansea in July for he second 70.3.
Matthews has to race at least a 70.3 (in lieu of scoring points at Texas) or she will say goodbye to a top 5 in the IM Pro Series (even with good Nice and Kona). Maybe Aix or a later 70.3 (all have downsides/require compromise) her instas are full of Roth.
Philipp normally races a 70.3 before Hamburg. I guess it’ll depend whether Seipp thinks Kraichgau (the week before Hamburg, in SW Germany) is better for her build (and German fans).
Maybe Pohle - who refused an invite for the T100?
Meissner - same (recently came off T100 waiting list).
Pierré? Home race.
This is the week before T100 Pamplona and that’s taking much of the talent.

Solveig said today on TTH podcast that she’s doing Swansea.

Transposing her results last year, which included a virtual 500 pt loss for not finishing the 70.3WC, she still would have come in 2nd if she swapped out an IM win for a 70.3 win. Though its worth noting that this was over Perterer who also skipped out on Marbella, so Berry (who seems like the likely “best of the field” this year) may be different.

A couple of hours after my post above - Aix start lists.

Philipp - tick
Pierré - tick
Neubert (to get a start for Nice - after her podium in Marbella)
I’m astonished to see so many athletes who are racing T100 Spain 7 days later.
Perterer, Simmonds, Rayner, De Vet, Christensen, Lee, Kleiser
Don’t they care about their performance in Pamplona? If there’ll be no prize money paid, I can understand that.

(and another 16 athletes)
French: Le Corre but no Bergere
Plenty of IM Pro Series campaigners.
Apart from ‘American’ Von Berg, not a single USA athlete in the top 40, men or women!

Are those the Aix-en-Provence startlists?

Oui Monsieur

Any update on Laura Phillip? Is she over her illness and back to full training?

Jelle on his IMTX race and his Ironman aspirations..Also found out from the video that he lives just up the beach from me.

Jelly Beans isn’t fooling me. He should win an academy award for that Texas performance. Looking forward to him and Laidlow duking it out for who can play the best rope-a-dope and take the tape in Kona.

That seems far fetched to say the least, to think he faked blowing up. Now he has to do another Ironman, if only for that reason that’s clearly not the best scenario for him.

And even if he ends up qualifying by the skin of his teeth in Lake Placid, he would still be on everyone’s radar in Kona, as all know he’s an excellent runner.

Nowhere to hide for Jelle. There is no way to fly under the radar.

idk, people dnf all the time when they just have a bad day to save the rest in the tank.

And even then, there’s Kalmar if he ends up blowing up again
