IM NZ Predictions

So, will Stadler put the boots to Brown on his home turf ? Can Gordo bike with the top guys and run sub 2:50 like at IMC. What about McFadden. Will he do the 62/4:30/2:50 deal ? What about the Swedes from EpicCamp. Can they do an F1 pace bike and hold off on the run ?

Your 2 cents please !

Cam Brown passes stadler at mile 20.

is this not what happens every year in Hawaii ???

Never mind those guys. How about a real prediction, I say 10:22 for Tom D.

Come on Guys, lets have your bids!

Come on Francois, give us a prediction for Tom.

He did say his swimming had improving after that swim camp so I’m sticking with my time but I will add 21 secs cos I like the tentative 22 on your estimate. Wonder what Bunnyman and Mr. Tibbs reckon. Gentlemen?

  1. The Baron (Clas B.). His breakthrough race to the big time.

  2. Cam Brown

  3. Stadler

  4. Bjorn A.

  5. G. Byrn

Love 'em all. Would like to see all of these guys have a great day. 8-10 minutes should separate this whole group.

Ah, How well we know them!

Well I think Tom is going to best his PR by eight minutes and finish in 10:34
.

  1. Bjorn A

  2. Cam B

  3. Norman S.

  4. Clas B. aka Baron

  5. Gordo

It’s going to be a real barn burner.

FIRELUV’s Prediction

  1. Cam Brown, he is the champion and you must dethrone.

  2. Norm Stadler

  3. Baron-- He has been very consistent

4/5 Gordo – He has a strong run

4/5 Bryan Rhodes –

  1. Bjorn – If he does not pull an ego trip like last year and cramp on the bike.
  The End

Greetings from Taupo!

My prediction: This is going to be awesome! Light rain this morning. Went for a swim. Water temp is just right, maybe 65 degrees or so (like it cold). The water is so clear, I was looking at these little white dime sized round things on the bottom, and realized they were actually golf balls way down there… You can use the ridges in the sand to guide you just like a lane marker, hardly ever need to sight ahead. I’m psyched about the swim anyway.

Keep the predictions rolling…

Does anyone know if they will have a live video/audio feed on the website ?

I just checked and it does not seem to be advertised

I though they did for IMNZ last year but I may be wrong.

They had live audio last year but I’m not sure about video, never works for me anyway. My guess ;

1 Brown

2 Stadler

3 Bjorling

4 Odgen

5 McFayden

6 Byrne

7 Anderson

It’s certainly stronger than the past couple of years, it has the who’s who of Australian long course racing, except no Luke Bell ? Still lacks some strong internationals, at least a couple of Germans making the trip this year. Last year was a bit disappointing, McCormack, Bell, Shortis and then nothing. One hell of a strong AG race though, no easy Hawaii spots downunder.

  1. Brown

  2. Stadler

  3. Andersson

  4. Clas Bjorling

  5. Gordo

Brown will take 1st, and Stadler and Andersson will battle it out for second and third. The Baron will hunt them down during the run, and will come within 2 minutes of both of them. Gordo runs a 2:52 after coming off the bike in 8th to take 5th.

Just my prediction.

Anyone know why Luke Bell isn’t going to be there?

I think he’s racing Ironman Australia like the past two years
.

Very few of you guys have McFayden in your top 5. Don’t know what he is up to, but when he is on, his bike-run is up with the best in the sport. Too bad he does the lame 62 min swim and gives away 10-14 min on guys like Brown. I still put him in my top 5.

Stadler

Brown

McFayden

Bjorn Anderson

Clas Bjorling
