I have read the option nutrition for IM is between 30-60 gms/hr and 300-750 calories/hr. These numbers don’t seem to tie to me.
Cardo Pro is 28.5 gms and 115 calories
Hammer Gel 22 gms and 88 calories
Going by gms seems too little, calories too much. Any suggestions?
You are right, the numbers you quoted in your first sentence don’t add up. 1 gm of CHO = 4 cals. I think the grams numbers are usually tied to bodyweight (g/kg bodyweight), so you may have not read them correctly. I usually see IM bike nutrition as 300-500 cals/hr which would be 75-125 g/hr.
