never thought i’d see this happen. i have some racing related stuff on my website, including a piece for folks new to the sport, “Welcome To The Kraziness Of Multisport Racing”.
i’m getting search engine rankings under multisport racing in the top 20 from google, yahoo, and aol, 11th with msn, and top 10 from dogpile & alta vista.
the “Welcome” piece is getting tons of traffic. hope its helping someone get going.
Beside the content howare you attracting visitors?
a couple other sites have links to mine…but other than that i think it is due to my exceptionally talented nephew, who runs White Beach Studios. he did the bulk of the work on the site. he knows the process quite well. i think it has something to do with “metatags” or something like that. i know just enough about that stuff to be dangerous.
He’s probably “optimized” your web site for the search engines to rank it higher in searches. It has to do with text and stuff, metatags might be there too. The search engines use algorithims to rank sites in a search. I cheat…I contract with an optimization company to do all that for me. Besides…Its more important to me to be riding my bike!!
i’m sure its somethin’ like that. he’s the expert. i too prefer to focus on training. too much time behind the keyboard gets me loopy.

OK…I’m quickly going in over my head here. But, if you contact a web optimization company they’ll be able to slightly change your web pages so that they do better during the algorithims by the search engines and therefore appear higher placed in web searches for particular key words you wish to use. By far, most of the people that find us on the web type in “st augustine bed and breakfast”. My optimization company uses this key word(ing) in my web site so that I place higher in the rankings for those words. Check out my web site and you’ll see how its done…basically…theres lots more to it though and I leave that to the pros! This is also why some web sites read kind of weird…cause thats the wording the searches engines are looking for. Again…check my web site and you’ll see why.
A good business owner does not need to know everything…he needs only to know WHERE to find the answers!!! I leave the web stuff to optimization companies and my best friend whos a great web master!
