Shouldn’t you be freaking out about the weather this weekend? What’s with the triathlon myths thread? ![]()
I did my part last Friday when I dropped off the bike at the LBS for Tribike Transport pick-up. Updated some rain gear and actually bought a pair of leg warmers. I will not draw any conclusions from such purchases lest I unnecessarily taunt the Gods…
I even replied to him in that thread and tried to poke him with my weather stick and got nothing!!!
I’m thinking he peaked too early on the weather.

For all the ribbing I’ve (deservedly) taken about being nervous about this race I did feel very “unsettled” today.
Yesterday I had an incredbile final long ride and got off the bike feeling like I hadn’t even ridden after just hammering for 80 miles. I’m not sick (knock on wood) and I feel about as good as I could given my preparation, work, etc. I didn;t do myself any favors drinking too much coffee this morning which put me a bit on edge.
Truthfully, I am just ready for the race to get here and to have the very best day I can with 2,500 of my best friends.
As for the the weather, we are looking about as good as can be expected at this point. That is good news.
I have developed an obsessive curiosity about bats this week, no doubt some subconcious attempt to distract myself form the race…

Hey man… just playing… and trying not to work. I wish I could leave for Madison tonight. Alas… we are not leaving until Thursday morning. The bike should already be on its way with Tribike Transport. Lucky bike!
I also found a baby rabbit running around in front of our house last night and a small opossum in my trash can. I went back in the house and got him a left over turkey sandwich and watched him eat it with a red-light lens flashlight (so as not to disturb his eyes) for entertainment. He was quite a fine specimen as opossums go. We went looking for the local fox but saw nothing- no bats either.
