has anyone swam in the ohio river? it seems like it might be tough swimming against the current. kinda like swimming with one of those endless pool things…
It is not bad. They close the locks and it cuts down on the current a bit. TriAmerica used to hold an oly there every year and I have swam 3 times in that particular part. You had to swim up stream for about 700m and it took a bit, but at the turn around you could roll. I have swam in Maysville which is the Ohio River as well but it was all downstream.
I am not sure of the swim course but it seemed like it was going to be point to point from what I heard. If so there will be some smoking swim times. Good luck it ought to be a good race, hydrate well. KY can get hot and humid.
