The athlete guide for IM Louisville is out… in it I noticed that there is only one athlete briefing, after the welcome dinner on Friday night, and it is “mandatory”.
That sucks

What a terrible inconvenience to sit another 10 minutes after you finish your pasta. I guess the adversity required to complete an Ironman just never ends. Maybe it’s just not worth it…
it’s always “mandatory”
.
I have never gone to any of the “Mandatory” ironman pre race meetings.
Except for the fact that I would be sitting at my house in Georgetown eating my pasta… if that wasn’t the case you would be right.
Yes “mandatory”… but i always worry
The inconvenience about the meeting is that it is at 8pm after a dinner some people do not care to attend. This may also be the third separate time you are required to make the journey to IM central. If you are at a hotel with kids 1hr away, or driving back home, it is just another round trip that is unnecessary. Registration is one trip, bike drop is another, dinner and meeting is the third, plus you have race day as the fourth, and special needs pick up as the 5th. Yes it is a choice to do the race, but I don’t see the reason behind stringing out all these required things.
x2
.
Where are you seeing the guide? I can’t find it on the site.
Thanks
They did an incomplete implementation (I assume of nas/wtc merger). Specifically they now have TWO websites
www.ironman.com/louisville
www.ironmanlouisville.com
The athletes guide is
http://www.ironmanlouisville.com/09LVAthGuide.pdf
To get the old results etc… you have to go to the first site.
For the new stuff it appears to be the second
Got it, thanks Alan
