I'm injured!

Damnit, this sucks. I raced at St. Anthony’s on Sunday and did well. Everything was fine until Wednesday morning when I woke up. My foot hurt. No big deal, I thought. Thursday, it hurt the same. It isn’t getting any better and may be getting worse. Today, I woke up and my toes were a little bit tingly. Well, time to go to the docter.

Went to the doc and found out that I have an inflammed tendon on the outside of my right foot. My doctor and I are taking an aggressive treatment for this since I have another race in 4 weeks. I have a boot on my foot and I’m taking some pretty strong anti-inflammatory drugs (Indomethacin). I have to ice it 3 times a day, stretch out my ankle, and I may be able to get on the elliptical in about a week.

This really sucks because I keep hearing about running is don’t get injured. You get injured and you go back to the starting point. I got injured and running is my weakest sport. Ugh, I’m frustrated, but I can still swim and cycle so there is some hope.
