I doubt you will see one from Zipp, maybe for Floyd, but it would retail for $2500 for the disc alone - cheap eh?

Weight. A normal box rim weigh more than a 404.

Probably very easy to make. Just trim a regular $60. CH Aero cover to size.

Why would you waste a perfectly good 404 that way?

Seems a simple tubie box rim with wheel cover screams logic. that leaves my rear 404 free for whatever comes along.
I imagine that is because as of year end (or maybe currently) the USCF racing rules will no longer allow the use of wheel coverings to be applied to wheels.

That would be a really dumb rule. It’s always been the case with ICU but not with triathlon as of yet.
