IM Germany and Special Needs

So a group of my buddies and I are racing IM Germany next year and I was going through the website last night and noticed that there is no “official special needs” and that family and friends can hand out special needs 50m past an aid station. Is this true? For anyone who did the race this year is this how special needs worked?

yeap.

I did the race in 2005 and that is the way it worked. Everything went well. Seems a little crazy to those of us used to organized special needs zones, but in fact it wasn’t a problem.

Some people without support/family hung bags in trees, etc.

Thanks for the information. I am a little concerned because both my wife and I are racing which doesn’t leave anyone for special needs. We will need to figure something out.

Is it the same on the run?
