Hi,
here is a link to the coverage on German TV, started 10am German Time (8am GMT)
I think the IM Live coverage starts later.
Frodeno two flats and a wheel change, feel bad for him.

Then there was 2
.
Just glancing at the updates it will be interesting to see how it ends, they are saying the bike that is supposed to be leading Frodeno is 30m behind him since they can’t keep up.
Well, so far the times from Kienle are incredible - 4:12 for the bike with a good 3500ft climbing, and on for sub 7:50
Done this course myself, and it’s not short, if anything the bike is 2-3km long. The run is also pretty accurate.
Frodeno must have lost a good 10-15min due to the flats. He said on German TV that after the first two, when the third came he had to wait for support as he had no spares left. He’s fighting a lot on the run, but still going fast despite stopping now and then.
Van Lierde also going well in 2nd.
Hawaii will be really interesting.
Wow, Natascha Badmann in 5th only 4 min down…she is just awesome
.
Kienle is flying. Incredible.
My mum’s having a blast in the F45-49, fastest bike split by 12 minutes!

Congrats!
Van Lierde seems to be just running with as little harm as possible to himself.
For me performance of the day is Frodeno - looks close to collapse stopping at nearly all aid stations, eating drinking all he can, and then sprints to the next one!
Great race to watch. They didn’t cover the women enough though.
If I’m reading the website correctly it looks like Frodeno came off the bike at 5:22 (total time) compared to 5:04 for Kienle and 5:10 for van Lierde. He came out just seconds ahead of van Lierde, so I think it is pretty impressive to only lose 12 minutes for 2 flats and a wheel change!
Looks like he’s only 5 minutes down now on van Lierde at 33k (not sure for whom - probably 33k for Kienle?). It’ll be interesting to see if he can catch him for 2nd.
FvL is in the finish chute now, so catching him is going to be hard…
New course record for Sebi, by ~4 minutes. Amazing.
Must have misunderstood - couldn’t have been 33k since Kienle just finished!

Yes fantastic.
Also frodeno ran 2:43 despite a lot of walking. Just ridiculous
The age-groupers are also doing some impressive work. My coach swam 1:02 and rode 5:01 and that was only good enough for 52nd in M40-44 coming off the bike! M20-24 is led by a monster who rode 4:39 and is now running 4:10/km splits…
Blogger at finish line says “if there’s a picture of what pain looks like at the finish line, it’s jan frodeno”.
Hilarious that his “rough day” is a 2:43 marathon debut including walk breaks

Sebi’s bike looks so amazing… And did anyone notice he is wearing full shoe covers?
I’m curious to know why his front tire doesn’t seem to have any logo… after all, it’s all about the equipment. It’s not like the guy went total beast mode or anything.

And he wasn’t even wearing a sleeved-suit…
What happened to Raelert? Looks like he DNF’d halfway through the run.
Most the time shoe covers are going to test out worse (~80% of the time, maybe more). There are only a few production models that test out well on a fairly consistent basis.
Maybe those are fast (for him) maybe they aren’t.
Age group champion will likely generate some controversy today. At least Kienle out split him on the bike, this time…
