IM France bike choice - P3?

Hi All
Anyone done IM France and have any views on bike choice? TT or road bike?

Is the course ok for a TT (P3) bike?
Would be interested in your views and experiences please.

Search the forum, question asked and answered elsewhere. Opinions vary but overall I feel that TT bike is fine if you know how to descent. I’ve done it twice (plus the old Nice LD) and I would choose my TT bike on the new/current course. my 2c.

I was unsure what to do myself. The main reason for using the TT bike for me, is that my SRM is on there and I don’t want to go through the hassle of moving it over. On the other hand, having a road bike would be nicer for the following 12 days when I am hanging out in France and just want to go ride and enjoy the country side. I’m leaning 90% tri bike, but I’ll make my final decision based on where else we end up going after the race. If I go somewhere with some nice riding options (pretty well everywhere), I might bite the bullet and do the entire swap over. I just ordered a new bottom bracket for my tri bike, so that might be a natural ‘transition point’ to move the SRM to the road bike on which I do 80% of my rides (frequency), and having the SRM on there might just be better anyway until later in the season when I start racing tris again (Aug-Sep).

I will be doing IM France on my P4. Did it last year on P2…Then spend rest of the summer training in Alps on the P4…As long as you are comfortable on your tri bike you will be fine…
