If you get down to the race site early, are you allowed to take your bike out of transition to go for a practice ride a day or two before? Maybe bikes aren’t even in transition by then, but I think they are. Anyone know this answer? Thanks.
Bike is in transition the day before the race, typically between 10 and 3.
Once you have checked it in, I think the only times you can take it out is when you race, and when you pack.
he’s right, bikes go in the day before. long lines. you can ride it before you put it in but once it’s in in stays in.
of course you are not going to ride the night before or the morning of the race so it should be fine.
the area is very congested that day. expo and check in. so if you plan to ride you may want to do it away from the expo. there will be a bunch of people riding along RT 79 (part of the course), it’s a pretty wide multi-lane rode with a good shoulder.
i’m pretty sure special needs bags go in at the same time as the bike. however, you can access them in the morning before the race.
I’d definitely go with SR 79 for riding. Thomas Drive/Front Beach Road has ar too many cars with too many inattentive drivers, and too many curb cuts.
