My Bike to Run transition bag went AWOL at IM FL. Hopped (well not really, kind of limped) off the bike to the changing tent, put the bike shoes and helmet in the Bike to Run bag (as instructed and gave it to a volunteer in the tent) after slipping on the running shoes…went to all of the right places after the race (and on Sunday and Monday to Lost and Found) and the Bike to Run bag seems to have run off on its own. So, do I have to just “deal with it” and go buy new shoes and helmet or should race management assume some responsibility for the missing bag? Any suggestions?
definitely the problem of race management. if you did all we were instructed to do, that’s, in essence, upholding your end of the contract. there’s a good chance that someone took your bag by mistake, which would make it race management’s responsibility, not fault, i think. do give them a call and start working with them on it, with the assumption that they’ll do the right thing.

Mine went awol last year at IMF also. They have some seious problems so I lost my wetsuit and some other bike items. However, the guy who ended up going home with it called me and then shipped it to me. At first it was cool to get my stuff back but then I had just ordered a replacement closeout xterra wetsuit. Oh well, hopefully you’ll have the same kind of luck. I SCOURED all of the stinkin leftover bags and the lost and found before leaving and left empty handed.
