Not a complaint…but has anyone noticed that the volunteers at the finish line @ IMCDA are passing the tape across instead of running it across? I’ve noticed the person handing it off bumping into finishers numerous times. They were running it across up until about 11 hours or so, then switched to the current less efficient technique.

Thanks for the laugh - that was good! I even downloaded the photo for future use.

Never would have seen that coming. Very strange indeed.
The only reason I mentioned it was because one of the very first things I noticed the first time I ever watched an Ironman was “Hey - look how they do the finish line tape THAT IS SO COOL!!” I think I sat there for 5 minutes in amazement at a great idea, and trying to visualize and calculate the sequence of exactly how each volunteer runs the tape across, and how they trade back and forth so everyone gets a chance to “break the tape”. Yeah - call me easily amused with a little OCD thrown in. Anyway - sorry for being a “can of worms” - it’s just one of those quirky things I noticed yesterday and wanted to comment on.
