IM community spot--how much$$$

How much is a community spot for IMLP and how fast do they sell? (talk about a pessimist, I’m already thinking of what to do if I don’t get signed up)

typically $1000…portion equal to the normal registration fee made out to NA Sports (I believe) and the rest made out to the charity - an explanation should be on the site. They don’t sell out too quickly but then again, I’ve never bought one for a race that sells out as quick as IMLP.

$1,000

Tha amount above the cost of the entry fee is tax deductable. Don’t be pessimistic about missing the sign-up, just be prepared for when it opens. LP is a great course!

Pretty detailed info on the community fund slots can be found here: http://www.nasports.com/commfund/index.php

Reading through the NA Sports link on comminity fund…

My company matches 5:1… therefore, a commity fund would only cost me an additional $91.67 over the registration fee with my companies matching gift.

If you go the community fund route, you get an extra goody bag with all sorts of good stuff (clothing, visor, etc) AND a super-low race number. I was #74 at IM CDA, and it was great – I got to rack my bike right next to the pros!

do you have to be registered already and then add the community spot or can I sign up for a community spot
.

You just sign up for the Community fund spot, which gets you an entry in the race (you don’t have to be signed up already). It’s for people who want to do the race, but weren’t able to get a slot through the regular registration process. The Community Fund registration usually opens up shortly after the regular entries fill up. The race website should have a link to the Community Fund info.

nice, each time I look it says that the slots are sold out though

That’s for 2007 slots

IMCDA opened on the 9th and still has 142 slots. Not sure how long IMAZ has been opened but it has 135 slots available.
