IM CdA race strategy considering post IM plans

So I am going to CdA to “just finish”. That’s honestly the only thing I care about.

That being said, if I properly paced myself and I had a decent day, I’d probably do an 11:30.

But, I plan on doing almost exclusively marathon training afterwards to try to qualify for Boston.

So would I be better served doing proper pacing at CdA or go hard on the bike and jog/walk the “run”?

My inclination is to say hard on bike and jog/run would lead to a quicker recovery, but I just don’t know.

When is your marathon that you are planning to try to BQ.

You can start back into pretty organized training a week or so after the race.

Unless I was planning to try and BQ a week or two after the race, I wouldn’t even worry about it and I would just bury myself.
