For those of you doing IM CDA 07, the bike course chage is all but official. Here is the new route, going toward Hayden rather than Post Falls (Spokesmanreview.com)
Pedal by pedal
•The bike course will start the same: Athletes leave City Park and ride to Higgens Point.
•As they return to downtown Coeur d’Alene, the new route will take cyclists north on 15th Street to Dalton Gardens.
•Athletes will use Deerhaven to access Fourth Street. They will then take Honeysuckle Avenue to Strahorn Road to Hayden Avenue to Lakeview Road.
•Cyclists will ride Rimrock Road to English Point Road, then Hayden Lake Road before getting on Dodd Road.
•From Dodd, the course will reconnect into Rimrock and go north to Ohio Match Road, where cyclists will turn around and go back down Rimrock to Garwood Road and connect into Hudlow Road before reconnecting to Rimrock Road.
•Cyclists will then use Lancaster Road to connect with Government Way before returning to Fourth Street and back into Coeur d’Alene.
•Cyclists must pedal the 56-mile loop twice.
Anyone familiar with the area care to comment? I have read a lot of complaints on the prior course, what does this leave out that will make people happy. How does this change the profile?
