Had my best IM after pancakes, hash browns, scrambled eggs and three cups of coffee at Dennys at 3am. This year gonna try less food more sleep. Still searching for perfect combination. Is this science, art, practice, magic or luck?

I would be happy to nail any 4 of those 5. I still think that all compoents taken into consideration (proper training, all tools in perfect working order, adequate sleep, the attempt to overcome the aging process, etc) for the average AGer, there IS a huge amount of luck involved, no?
My typical pre-race is oatmeal made with coffee instead of water. OJ, fresh fruit, and more coffee help too.
