I am about to do my first IM. Any good suggestions for the half-way bag on the bike? I plan on including fresh socks, gels, and solids. I thought some of you experienced racers may have some additional items that have helped you in your half-way bag over the years…
Don’t forget extra tube/air, salt tabs if you use them, fuel, etc. Anything that you could drop, use more than you plan, break, etc. Don’t know how you are on the bike but if it is your struggle, maybe an inspirational note from someone that is important to you. If you are going to be shooting to just break 17 hours, I recommend a note in transitions, on your bike, bike bag, run bag…It gets lonely out there sometimes and anything that makes you smile or feel better helps.
