I'm all set for winter- bought a used Cycleops 300PT indoor cycle. Tips?

I decided to make a hedge for the winter and get a solution that is more user friendly than a rear wheel trainer. I have a Fluid 2 and it was a pain, mostly for my wife, to pull down her bike from the garage roof, pump up the tire, set it up etc…I picked up a used Cycleops 300PT. It was raining in sunny Southern California today so i set up the new indoor cycle and give it a try. A few questions that hopefully some can help with:

Any tips for setting up the computer? I have the older model that doesn’t have a new Joule, and has the resistance knob on the bars. My computer box says verison 10:39 and i don’t see anywhere on their website to find a firmware update. WIll this box upload data to my WKO+? Do i have to use the power agent software for any updates? Can i use my Garmin Edge 500 with it? Any tips on maintainance? Any things to look out for?

Thanks in advance.

I’ll try to help some. I had an older style 300PT and sold it to upgrade to the 400.

You should be able to find the manual on line. This will walk you through the set up. If not PM me and I’ll email you my old copy. The resistance knob kinda blows because it phontom tightens on its own so holding certain power zones is kinda tough. Read this FAQ. It talks about firmware and zeroing out the torque.

Once you do a workout you upload it to PowerAgent then export it to wherever. I sent mine to CTS. I think you need PowerAgent for updates. You might be able to pair it to the Edge but why? You wont get cadence. Maintenance is basic. Replace the hub battery and lube the chain. Tips: get a fan, zero out torque, make sure tension knob is tuned good.
