I’ve been searching all over the place on the ironmanllv.com web site, but can’t find an answer.
Does anybody know here how we are supposed to get back to the T1 area after the race is finished to pick up our car. Not sure if they have a shuttle planned for this, or are we supposed to arrange it ourselves?
My guess is its do-it-yourself. I’m sure it will get covered in the Friday night meeting.
Although I will have ample family to drive my sorry ass back, there is going to be a shuttle bus to bring people back. I think it’s mentioned in this thread:

Thank you for your email. A shuttle service is not being provided for athletes/specators (sic) on race day. For those participating in the event and traveling alone, we urge you to make arrangements with another athlete or contact your hotel for information on a shuttle service they may provide. If you are traveling with spectators, we recommend that they be available to transport you back to T1 to pick up your gear. Please let me know if you have any additional questions. We wish you the best at this weekends event and hope you have a safe and successful race!

This seems to be a huge failure to plan on the RD’s part.

Wow! That’s incredible…
I’m not very happy with the 2 transition zones, especially how far apart they are for one another. It is going to make it very difficult for family to watch the start and then get over to T2/finish line and then for racers to get back to the start/T1 area to get vehicles.
The website has no map showing the actual distance between the 2 transitions or how spectators are supposed to get from T1 to T2.
I really liked the set-up at Clearwater but since I haven’t gotten out to Vegas yet (arrive Friday morning) to check it out and hear it from the horses mouth, I’m hoping that it isn’t the logistical nightmare that it appears on the surface!

There is shuttle service from T2 back to host hotel for athletes and their equipment after the race. It will run every 30 min or earlier. I am at info booth if you have questions. Spectators need to get from T1 to T2 on their own.
A little research or a quick email can prevent this sort of confusion, but you were pretty quick on the draw to shit on the Race Director.
Not cool.
