For those of you who did IM 70.3 in Calgary, would you recommend this race? What were some of the highlights and/or disappointments? How about the course layout, etc.
Thinking about this race for 2010, just looking for some feedback before diving in.

I enjoyed it. Things that may matter to you:
I was in the last wave and by the time we came back under the bridge and out into the main lake to make the turn back to the ramp it was pretty choppy. Didn’t bother me but you it was a little rock and roll for the last 400m.
We had favourable winds on the bike course this year. I really enjoyed the course but if you have a NW wind it could be a tough ride. The traffic management was excellent.
The point to point logistics went very smoothly. Wasn’t sure what to expect but it was very seamless. Dividing all your gear into prerace/T1/T2 bags almost made it easier to manage/prepare.
The hills into and out of Weaselhead are pretty tough… but the constant contact with the crowds/spectators for the last 4km makes a big difference in staying motivated to the line.
Overall I thought the race was well executed and well organized. I’d do it again if I was a local. If you have any specific questions feel free to PM me or ask away.
