if you rent me your power cranks for ten months. I’m signed up for IMWISC, 2006. Just a regular guy, did IMCDA in just over 12 hrs, and would like to improve, but I’m not into paying $800 for a few minutes improvement. Can’t hurt to ask.
What a cheap bastaard!!! Throw in the wife and you have a deal!
She’s the reason I’m a cheap bastard. That woman can shop!
I feel your pain brother!
My motto…If you cant ride it, surf it, run in it or eat it… why buy it!
you two are funny!
Would the wife just be a rental, too?
In my humble opinion I think you should consider training more to improve from 12 hours and ignore the powercranks as the magic wand to take care of your issues. Most of your gains will come in just doing more training and if you are really concerned with pedal stroke you can do isolated leg training.
In a similar situation my freind spent about $100 on two pairs of “on sale” running shoes and made himself run 672 miles in 12 weeks. That was the the best investment for him. He ran doubles, 4 in the AM and 4 in the PM for 84 days and did some cycling with isolated leg training. The overall result was a dramatic reduction in time for his MAF test and he was very happy with the result as he started his focused trainng program for triathlon.
Perhaps the best thing about what my friend did was he set himself up to avoid injury when he was required to run a lot for LD training.
Best of luck, I hope it works out for you!
The wife is not on the rental program. I need to keep her for three more years until the warranty expires. After that, I’ll be done with her, just in time for my first trophy wife.
My draw to powercranks is that you can save time by doing single leg drills at the same time. (ie. cutting down the time by 1/2) … so is anyone renting? I’m interested too ![]()
