I was at Ikea recently doing some christmas shopping and I came across this thing. It’s more suited for other uses (with 2 posts, it’s a really cool shelving thing). But it makes for a pretty cool bike rack.
Where are your road bikes?
I am glad to se that it’s an indoor rack from Ikea. I had horror visions of you putting your tri bike on top of the car on a rack that attaches by keying studs into laminated particleboard . . . .
I used the same thing at BTAC (Canadian Interbike) show. Worked very well.
The Orbea was my road bike, converted tri bike. I was going to convert it back to a road bike when I got the p2sl, but if you look closely at the rear wheel, there is a drill bit sticking out of the lower right side. When I ran over that, it bent my chainstay (or something around there) and now my rear wheel rubs the frame a little, so it’s a project on hold for now.
Bummer!
how do you like your p2sl? I have been tossing up either the p2sl or the kuota k-factor…your input would be appreciated
fricken cool
.
I have that. The one thing I find frustrating it that the bike seems to spin around on those hooks. Does this happen to you?
It’s a very solid bike. I don’t know anything about the kuota, but I have absolutely no issues with the p2sl. It’s light, handles great, very smooth and fast ride.
I do! I just put this up last night, so I haven’t had much chance to mess with it, but I’m going to try to stabilize the little bike arm things so they don’t move. If I come up with something, I’ll let you know
Please do. That’s the only fault of that contraption.
Trust the Swedes to come up with something so practical. Thanks for the post. Looks like I’ll be visiting Ikea.
