If you have the polar power meter

How do you have the receiving unit mounted especially if you are using a bars like Profile’s Carbon X or Ovals? I have a set of modified Carbon X bars w/ T2+ s-bends and was wondering if a computer nod (mount) will work to hold the base that the Polar watch attaches to?
If you have a similar config could you post a pic?
Thanks.

You could easily make a holder to run perpendicular between the aero extensions like the visiontech holder in http://visiontechusa.com/fly.aspx?layout=product&taxid=86&pid=126. Just get some PVC pipe, cut it roughly to length, then wrap some rough sandpaper around a second spare piece of piping that is approximately the diameter of the bars and sand the “grooves” on either end. Make sense?

I’m doing something similar with PVC to make risers for the Polar surfboard to rest on the chainstay - it’s been remarkably easy, and the cost, so far, is $1.78.

mine’s mounted to my stem.

Thanks. I know I have seen a picture on the forum of someone using this and mounting it on their s-bend but I can’t seem to find it. I will give this a try.

How did you mount the receiving unit to your stem?

again, it’s rather easy - I cut and sanded 6 PVC mini-mounts in all of 15 minutes last night - and i’m completely inept when it comes to these things.

It won’t be as pretty as CF, but it will be just as light and wrap some electrical tape around the tube, and you’re set.

realizing your q was posed to the other person, I’ll nonetheless answer.

Celebrating the beauty that is PVC piping. See http://www.u.arizona.edu/...bike/s710/index.html (not mine, but a good idea all the same).

I use one of these

But, for a while I just put the watch band around the stem and base bar at an angle. Worked fine.

sure it’s a PowerTap but it’s not a stretch to say you could do this with the polar… just mount the polar bar mount to the cork… if you are going to use a cork you’ll need to get your bars reeeeeally close. hey… better aerodynamics

Yes, thanks and that make sense.

i have oval 700 bars and the polar base mounts nicely on the little front crossbar. one mounts to the stem and then the one in front of that is open for the unit. works nice and is right under my nose for observation while riding.
