If you could get what you want for Christmas (within reason) what would it be?

I would like a good single speed ice bike. A new Fort road frame and a new bike seat. I would like the one mile per hour faster to. Because of my age three mph faster would be better. I would like a good fitting with the bikes I got now.

Santa is bringing me a Felt DA frame. Well, it may be here after Christmas, but it was ordered as a “Christmas” present.

I’m in good with Santa, I finished a room in the basement for him (er, her).

My Tour de France trip paid for. I’ve already bought the airplane ticket.

Or, a new track bike. Preferably a Cervelo P2T, but I’d be happy with the entry level Biachi track bike.

The 2003 Tour DVD (long version) is at the top of my “real” list.

OK, addendum, if I cant have free speed then:

  1. Wind tunnel camp & diagnostics

  2. VO2 max & blood lactate testing

  3. Powertap (maybe by spring … i hope)

A new son or daughter.

My wife’s due with kid No. 2 on Jan. 15, and I’m really looking forward to the big day. Wish it would hurry up and get here.

If Santa’s handing out Renn discs and cool DeSoto two-piece wetsuits, I’ll take those, too.

Complete Timex Bodylink System.

a new set of skate skis + poles + boots…oh so nice - that’s my reality…

beyond reality : that no more rain would fall on the great snow out side…say, no rain until march…

a good fitting to my bike would be nice.

all done!

A Renn front wheel. I just saw a new 575 disc and the workmanship is beautiful. Best looking disc I have seen.

Emma Snowsill…

So, if you could have anything you wanted for Christmas within reason what would you want?

I would want a trip somewhere warm to train for a week, so I’m going to Doug Stern’s Triathlon Training Camp in Curacao.

Summer weather over the xmas holidays.

regards,
Fran

i’d love a wetsuit of any kind, or a professional demerly-esque bike fitting.

have you noticed how many people have posted that they’d like bike fittings? interesting…

Woo-hoo! Another Wilco fan!

As far as Christmas gifts, I have the go-ahead from my lovely bride to get a new tri-bike (my first)! It’s just a matter of finding a free day to get to the LBS and get fitted. I’ve got my eye on a Felt B2 (assuming it fits) built up with Campy Chorus, an Oval one-piece aerobar, and American Classic 420s.

I’m surprised how many of you have various material goods on the top of your list  For me, toys come and toys go. They are a means to an end, that being triathlon. So if I could pick what I REALLY wanted, it would be

i) Continued support from my wife and son so that I can keep training and racing pretty well whenever I want (all within reason of course)

ii) The health and the body to roll out of bed any day of the year and to be able to wing off a 90 min run, a 3 hour ride, a 4000m swim or a 50K XC ski for another 18 years of multisport training and racing !

That my friends would be the ultimate gifts. If anyone could assure me that will have both for the next many years, I’ll trade ya any tri toys…oh yeah, an entry to Ironman Hawaii would be number 3 :-).

.

I’d want to get my wife to like triathlon, or not hate it, or at least not bitch about me doing it.

For actual hardware though, it would have to be a P3, with custom paint, Dura-Ace and HED wheels.

For training, I’d love to learn how to ride and run.

10 years of my life back so that i could go after keira knightly (pirates of the carribean) and not be busted for a statuatory offense Go for it, Jon. She’s 18

Other than world peace and good health for all: time and the money to go back to race IM NZ and then spend a month in NZ doodling around drinking flat whites and eating steak pies!

Wow. My buddies at Oakley squared me away. I just got not one but two new pairs of prescription Oakleys. Awesome. Thanks guys. They are killer. They make me look smart. What a ruse.

I’d want to get my wife to like triathlon, or not hate it, or at least not bitch about me doing it.

Did you get your wife to watch the NBC show about Triathlons & Kona?

My wife was crying for most of the second half (people celebrating their finish) and Mark’s story. Heck, she didn’t even see the Moss or Hoyt footage.

That changed my wife’s perspective a little.

Wife HATES tri. She’s been at enough IM finish lines to see the emotion for real. The near tears (mine) and the triumphs (not mine yet).

She says I should spend more time with family but my kids are 16 & 18 and really don’t give a shit whether I live or die as long as the fridge is full and the Playstation has new games. Wife just sits glued to the TV while I read beside her or putter round doing nothing in particular. She has no interest in tris and begrudges that I do.

She hates that I do tris, but I’ll be damned if I’m gonna die next year from a heart attack on that uncomfortable couch watching some flippin’ commercial. If she could just experience the great joy I get frorm training and racing (even at my slow speed), I 'm sure she’d love it too, or at least allow me to enjoy it.

Yes my life is sad, but at least I get to train and race in New Zealand! The glass is definitely 1/2 full!
