That is, glasses that made it so you could see in front of you in the aero position without having to hold your head up as high.

Already have them. My glasses guy moves the Rx focal point up for me so that when I look out the tops of my lenses I have more clear vision than out the center (where the focal point would usually be). Guy who makes them also happens to be a cyclist and elite XC ski dude - so he gets it.
Or do you mean the age old “periscope” style so you see forward while looking down? Those sure were fun in 1988…dangerous as shit though…
No, I like seeing things directly with my own eyes, not some relfected/refracted image.

This wouldn’t be a periscope or involve mirrors. Its not different than wearing eyeglasses with a prism in the rx
I recall reading somewhere that Phelps’ coach modified some goggles as a training tool so he could only see out the top of them rather than straight ahead (so it made him keep his head position lower in the pool in order to look forward).
Kind of like the mirror, but using a prim instead? Interesting, but wouldn’t that screw up the aerodynamics of the aero helmet?

it would just change how you position it on your head, or perhaps which helmet you use.
For me, if I could just hold my head down a LITTLE more, it would be a lot more comfy. The helmet can move back enough to stay against my back.
I may, I’ve been looking for a pair of sunglasses that I can look forward while in an Aero position; the top brim of the (Oakley Half Jacket) glasses block my view. Its to the point I don’t use sunglasses in Aero. I really just want one without a top brim (like Gargoyles were back in the day).
I’d be interested in anything that relieves my sore neck.

lots of options for rimless:

The prism value would be an extra bonus though. keeping your head lower could be more comfy AND more aero potentially.

Those look good, I knew about the Oakleys but the site I saw them at listed them at $300. I may have to pull the trigger on those.

And then what happens as you grab the brakes when you see trouble ahead, and as you’re looking at nothing but sky as the truck rolls toward you ? ? ?
I don’t think a prism adjustment that shifts your view 45 degrees upward would be either possible, or desired.

Would that mess with your equilibrium though? If there’s a disconnect between what your eye is seeing and your body’s actual position?
A great idea, but I get woozy just thinking about it. I’d think it would knock your balance/perception off slightly. Eh?
Somewhere in the back of my brain is a memory of Tinley/Scott/Allen talking about just that thing - glasses with prisms that allowed them to ride head down but look forward. Seems they didn’t allow for them to see their periphery, I recall a comment about a wayward cow…
Anyone else recall this? Was I dreaming?
Something like these maybe?

It might, thats something I want to test out.
I may be trying this at work, I’ll keep you guys posted.

No, but there was a pro back in the 80s who had some sort of mirror glasses that he used so he could keep his head down while riding. This was just before/after the advent of aero bars, and he had a super low set up that dropped his handlebars way below the stem of his funny bike.
I think he was a doctor. Anyone remember who that was? I remember seeing him at USTS Boston.
I think you would want to use mirrors on your handlebars not glasses
-my thinking is this- youw ant to be able to see forward while looking down
-but when you sit up- you want to see normally.
-strikes me that a set of on-handlebar mirrors is what you want…
