What, you already have the Miamiman in you hometown, or local, but that’s not good enough; it has to be an IM branded event?
Jeez, WTC just announced 70.3 Boulder, Galveston, and Mooseman becoming 70.3 races.
A little brand dilution going on? I’m holding out for 70.3 Bronx and 70.3 Guantanamo…
Mooseman is becoming a 70.3? Where did you see that?
jajajaja yeah but the setting they are proposing for this HIM race will be pretty cool for the bike and run something else to do i guess
Peace

I think Guantanamo 70.3 will be awesome

That would be awesome! I might have to come back to Miami just to race.
I miss the Grove…
It would seem to be legit – maybe a slightly more reliable source here:

I’m surprised: #1 that this is a brand NEW 70.3 (not a MiamiMan rebrand) and #2 at the proposed bike course (from downtown, thru the grove, gables, pinecrest, all the way to homestead? or just towards homestead?). That’s HUGE. Potential to be a great course, assuming they can pull off all the permitting, police support, etc. No doubt the run will be H-O-T on the Causeway - pray for a cloudy day as we had for the first ~half of the morning for the Escape on Sunday. And how about that CRYSTAL clear bay water - whatsupwiththat?!?
Who cares?
70.3 is a ponzi scheme anyway.
When I read the title without any more detail i thought they had purchased Miamiman. Plus it seems to be the week before…
The course sounds fun if they can pull it off. Seems to be going through a lot of “not easy to deal with” areas and will require extensive closures. The course might be misleading because from downtown to homestead an back is much more than 56 miles.
If its hot that causeway loop is a killer since there is zero shade. I am not sure about the swim though, not my favorite but hey…
Peace
