IF Ras had been eliminated before the last big climbs What would Disco strategy have been?

Near the end, Levi kept attacking to help break Ras, would he have just taken off and tried to gain on Evans and Contodor? Or would the team have kept him close to aid Contodor?

Or am I not making any sense and your just totally confused

I think you would have seen Leipheimer and Contador working togther to put as much distance as possible on Evans.

Paulo is bang on. If the chicken was not there, Contador would have not had a partner on all those climbs to put time on Levi. It would have ended up Levi-Evans-Contador :slight_smile:

You just couldn’t help yourself, could you?? You had to go and say something that I totally agree with, they must be serving slushies in Hell right now!!! The chicken was probably responsible for at least 2 to 3 minutes of Contadors time, although 35 seconds would have been sufficent…

Not really on topic, but if Discovery had someone (Popo or Hincapie) to help Levi when he had that mechanical, he might have won the tour. The ten second penalty plus the time lost seem awfully big right now.

As for your question, not sure what would have happened if Discovery was defending the yellow jersey during all those stages and had to burn a bunch of their guys leading the peloton.

It was late in the race, and those guys were shelled already, and that was the point of him cheating, not to lose that time. SO there was no lost time on the road, the car pushed him back up the hill to the group, where he would have been if nothing happened. So just the penalty, and a just penalty…
