If Lance ran for president

Who would win? Obama walks on water and shoots a mean hoop!

If arnold can run for govenor I don’t see why Lance can’t run for pres
.

Who would be the first lady?

It would go something like this:

and please welcome President Armstrong and the First lady of the month.

Who would be the first lady?
Johann Bruyneel!

I might vote for him just to see the reaction from France, if he won.

Either Leipheimer or Contador and HIncapie could probably be talked into the position.

Who would be the first lady?

everybody!

he’d be as popular as George Bush, meaning, the French, German and all left-wing euro countries would hate him, the Italians would secretly admire him, and his only friends would be the British and Aussies, just like it is now…

I don’t think he has the balls to do it…

(sorry couldn’t resist)

This is a little over the top…you all should really get a room and prey homage to Lord Armstrong.

I would move back to Canada.

Lance is the man !

If Lance were president …
Trek make our stealth weapons!
Matthew McConaughey would be Vice President
Lemond move to France! (maybe not soo bad)

Drugs laws would be relaxed.

I would move back to Canada.

I would welcome you…

Actually this is not all that far fetched…maybe not for president but he has mentioned potential political aspirations on the state level. I have also heard rumors of party affiliation.

If LA ran for President, we would spend $1 trillion on Cancer cure and $1 billion on the Iraq War.

The last two posts summed up things pretty well. Watching his press conferences, I can’t help but find his oratory style similar in a lot of ways to Obama’s, but with a more relaxed polish. He responds well to reporter questions and, even ignoring bike performance, has demonstrated what appears to be ample ability to think on his feet, or at the very least, be coached to respond well to situations that could easily fluster someone. On the other hand, moving from being (basically) a lobbyist for his cancer foundation, to someone who is supposed to be concerned about all issues associated with the electorate would be very difficult to do over any period less than 5 years. He’d have to figure out a way to recharacterize himself as a politician (develop a “voice” associated with mass leadership, which is significantly more diffficult to do than being a leader of a team), develop a platform that touches on many more issues than he is willing to talk about right now, deal with the percieved indiscretions of the past (the number of women in his life would have to be dealt with before he would be considered even remotely electable), deal with his glaring educational deficiencies (which I think would already play decently well with anyone who draws a soft correlation between highest level of formal schooling and intelligence) and also figure out a way to distance himself from his cycling career. Americans don’t elect male politicians who wear spandex.

Then again, maybe there could be some sort of way he could win an election by carefully positioning himself regarding the things he feels most strongly about and portraying himself as a maverick… regardless, it would take a long time and a lot of effort that he is currently dedicating to cycling.

If he ran for President, we’d find out more about his alleged doping in the first month of the campaign than the cycling/general press has ever been able to uncover.

I predict he’ll never run for public office.

Who would be the first lady?
