If i want to try SRAM for my tri bike what do i HAVE to buy

Just front shifters, front derailer and rear derailer? The chain and cassette from DA work correct?

I think that shifters and RD will work. Although the ride on cables for the Red are pretty nice. Also to get a real evaluation you shoudl use the 1090 chain and cassette. But if you jsut want to lose the weight i think that people run just shifters and RD.

Having recently upgraded to SRAM Force, just go the whole kit. BB, crankset, front and rear derailleurs and most importantly…get the bar end shifters. Shimano’s bar end (you mentioned Tri bike so I’m assuming that you have bar end shifters). But if you dont mind friction for your rear derailleur shifting then you can skip it. I’m not a fan so just waiting for a pair of TT900’s.

You only need the rear derailleur and shifters- all other shimano items will work (and probably work better).

Just curious…what are you trying to accomplish by moving?
