Hi
I was wondering if what or any ideas on how to close the end of the fin on the helmet Giro Advantage. I wonder if Giro sells any plastic piece fit to close it off.
thanks

duct tape?
the giro has vents in the front of it right?
closing the fin might slow it down
i would close everything, if i closed anything =)
I was just thinking of doing the same thing as the Spunk helmets where they are mostly closed in the back by the fin except for that little hole.
Have seen some pics on this website.

I purchased an 8.5 X 11 sheet of plastic. The same plastic sheets used as dividers in some 3 ring notebooks. I layed the tail of the helmet on the sheet and traced it onto the sheet. Cut the sheet to shape and used black electrical tape along the edges. It looked clean and worked really well. I left a small opening at the tail of the fin for the air flow.
sounds good, how far up the fin did you go (aka towards the back of your head)?
thank you
chris
Takes 5 minutes with a roll of clear packing tape:
Cut a too-long piece and lay it width-wise with >1/2" extra on both sides; neatly trim to about 3/8" along the edge of the helmet, stick down (onto the ‘outer’ side of the helmet’s plastic shell). Repeat three or four times, overlapping at least 1/4". At the aft end where the ‘edge’ of the tape is near your head, cut a suitable piece of tape about 3/4" wide, and lay it along the edge, fold over to the sticky edge to prevent hair from sticking in the tape. Done.
I’ve used my helmet for about 15 races so far, and it isn’t close to needing to be replaced. Adds virtually no weight, and can be repaired or replaced within 5 minutes. Cost: about 5 cents.
thank you for your help and advice

.
I cut the plastic in a curve right behind the retention system.
