Icing my ankle, need an idea

What can I wrap my toes with while I ice my ankle several times today and tomorrow? My buddy played NFL ball and used to ice all the time. He tells me that the toes are the worst part when you put your leg in a bucket, as they lose feeling immediately and turn into small icicles. The footballers used a neoprene booty that the trainers provided, similar to a scuba diver’s footwear.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Um, neoprene booty?

My favorite for everything is a bag of frozen corn.

Just laying the bag on your affected part, or eating corn is your favorite all time passion?

The frozen corn or peas works pretty well. I guess frozen anything - broccoli, strawberries etc also.

I also used to freeze dixie cups (like 6 oz) filled with water and then peel back the paper and apply the ice directly to my ankle.

I suggest you htfu and just put your whole foot in the bucket. If it is too cold…don’t put as much ice in it, you will still get the benefits. I have figured out the right amount of ice to keep it as cold as possible, without making me feel like a little whiney girl. I have never “lost feeling” because of ice.

Biggest laugh I’ve had all day…thanks

Get a plastic dishpan. Fill it with ice and water. Put you heel in it, but keep your toes out. That’s how I ice my achilles.

I’d have to agree. Just put your foot in it. Your toes will hurt like hell for a couple minutes, then they go numb and you’re fine. You get used to it after a little while.
