I’m down. My solution is simple: I just stopped posting in here. To be honest, I can tolerate a lot, but the insults to my dog were really the worst…
I have been a member here almost 5 years and 3,000+ posts and I have never personally insulted anyone – despite having many tossed my way. One day?! So easy!

Normally onanistic self-involvement is right up my alley, but I found myself becoming way too involved in the politics side of things here for much of '08, and I’ve been forcing myself to dial things back a bit. And also because I’m trying to honestly give the new administration a clear playing field for its ideas. So far, I haven’t seen anything they’re doing that’s going to reverse the course of U.S. history in a negative fashion. Yet 
As far as the blog, well…I only write what the editors tell me to write and only go as far as they let me off the leash. I asked them the question (how far to go) with the observation that I’m “used to swimming in very turbulent waters” (this room). The reply back was “Good Lord NO!!” when I showed them a few threads involving politics, life, war, navel-gazing…you name it. They’re just not ready for the kind of major league, trenchant and biting wit (hah!) even the most dilettante-ish of us here in the LR can deliver in the blink of an eye, or perceived insult, including yours truly.
I agree with your last declaration, too. I don’t recall an instance in which you “lost it.” And I’m sure if it occurred, it was certainly more than justified.

I’ll sign up, I have never insulted anyone on this board. I may disagree to disagree but never lowered myself to attack anyone.
I’d like to say I’ve never insulted anyone but all I can claim is never being the one who started it. Mine has always been in response. But, that is still not OK. Being a meanie is still being a meanie. No reason for it.

I think not posting was the only way I was able to run the gauntlet and make it through relatively “insult-hurling” free. Besides, I occupied my time during this interregnum by writing World of Warcraft articles for one of those WoW sites. Believe me, I know more than I *ever *wanted to know about power leveling, grinding, Warrior class macros…you name it. Uh-oh…did that sound geeky to you? Where’s EdwinJ when I need him? He’s some sort of Blood Elf Druid, or something in that world

My husband lost a year of his life to that game. I’m quite used to the WoW speak. He is also a D&D player but he’s stopped trying to talk to me about it. My eyes glaze over like his does when I talk about my HR zones during my last run.
