Was out on our roadie ride tonight. Hill ride but a fast strait 10 kms to finish off. Clipping along with the front group at the start of the last 10 kms and hear this rattling. Look down at my downtube and see that my water bottle and cage is just about to fall off. Not a good thing when there are riders behind you in the pace line.
So I pull off and wave everybody on. Sure enough the screws are loose. I put the bottle in my jersey rear pocket and hand tight the screws in. Then cruise home arriving long after the group. Of course they all assume I faded and was dropped. Not sure if anyone believed my story about the loose water bottle cage.
Was working on the bike a couple of days ago and changed the water bottle cage. I hand tightened it and then started to do something else on the bike forgetting to tighten the screws.
This probably qualifies me for the jackass award this week unless anyone can top this.
