I Love the Giro day Italia

For those who watched a young man solo away today in Pantani land, wasn’t that a treat. I really like watching the Giro, and on many days like it more than the Tour. The way the sprints go down and the up in the air, who’s gonna win in the end make it fun. The Italian mountains tend to be more steep and quite twisty compared to the French alps. So it’s a tough race for sure. I still have to go with Pelozotti cause he’s the Bianchi pic of the month. I find it amazing that just a few years ago, guys like Pantani and Hinault did both and today it’s out of the question for those wishing to do well in the tour.

Yea, got to love it. Those Italians know how to get into a bike race. Both spectators and riders. We haven’t seen many mountains yet. Italy is chock full of “hills”. If you noticed today the last one into town wasn’t even listed yet it looked like 8-12% judging the effort those guys were putting out.
Agree the TDF is the Grand Dame of the Tours, but in some ways the Giro is cooler. The fun begins next week. I am hoping Brad McGee can hang in there. Not too bad for a trackie. G
