Thanks Tibbs. As a soldier I could not agree more.

“Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness”, gentlemen. That’s all that people really want out of life. Even people over there.

I don’t know the ultimate form that their democracy will assume, or if it’ll even be friendly to us. But the point is that they’ll be free to decide their own fate.

When this all started I regreted leaving the military. In the mean time we have been asked the question “Is it worth the lives?” I can only answer for myself but there are three events that I believe would have made my death in Iraq worth it.

The opening push. When it was announced Saddam was captured all the Iraqi press began to chant sing and dance with joy. The day millions faced a very real chance of death and demanded to be counted and listened too.

I am now ashamed of the fact I didn’t vote for president this last time. Who the hell did I think I was?

Uhhhh…a member of that website, Democratic Underground? I heard most of them didn’t vote, either.

Go over there and read their posts. Talk about a seriously committed faction of rabid left wing Dems. Yipes!!
