I love my Brooks Launch shoes. I’ve been trying to adopt a more natural/minimalist/whateverwearecallingit style and would like to transition to something with a smaller drop. That’s my winter running project. I have a pair of Kinvaras but they just don’t feel right for whatever reason. I just like the way Brooks feel.
I’m thinking the PureFlow might be the better option since it’s a little “more” of a shoe than the Connect.
I’m 6’0" and 170 lbs. with wide Fred Flintstone feet. Medium arches I suppose.
I was wondering the same thing. Bigger dude, 5’9" - 180lbs. Been running all my miles in the Brooks ST5…a little over 200 miles a month past couple months and closer to 300 this month probably.
Flatter feet, overpronate but doesn’t seem to bother me too much. I just restocked a couple pairs of ST5s since I ran all year in them and they seem to agree with me but was thinking of giving the Flow or Connect a shot. Would the Flow have more cushion than the ST5?
You may want to try the grit…trail shoe, but good road feel, cushioning, and wider than the rest of the line. Its also slightly lighter than the launch. I’m currently switching between the kinvara, brooks connect, and the grit - grit being my favorite.
I did not like the pure connect. Too much going on in the shoe for me. I actually ended up staying with Green Silence which work well for most of my training runs.
stay with the Launch and how your run now…if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.per- http://www.teamtbb.com
i tried the flow and launch and picked the launch. more cushioning by far.
I’ve been saying that too myself as well. I’m perfectly happy with the Launch given my current running technique. I’d like to become a more efficient forefoot runner though.
‘WHY’???who says forefoot running is more efficient for ‘you’? i have no idea what distance you race…but know the longer the distance the less forefoot running is best for ‘most’. and less injury. less break down, ie. holding form
i know doc says you got to hold form for whatever distance you race.
