My wife gave me the phone call yesterday at work. “Big EE, are you sitting down? I’m pregnant again!”
That’s kid No. 3 for the Big EE and Mrs. Big EE. No doubt about it, my boys can swim.
I’m pumped. I DIG LITTLE KIDS!!. ESPECIALLY MINE!!
And as a super bonus, I made a deal with my wife a few years ago involving bikes and kids. If I agreed to three kids, I could have any bike I wanted when No. 3 arrived. Awesome! I’m goin’ bike shopping.
(And don’t anybody rain on my parade by telling me I’m not gonna have any time to ride my new bike. I know that already. I’m already calling off my Ironman plans for 2006.)
That is awesome to hear… Congrats on the soon to be new arrival. Both Bike and kid!!! I have four daughters and it is a blast. 3 of them competed in there first triathlon a couple of weekends ago and it was neat seeing them go at it. I think I was more nervous than when I race. Kids are great. Congrats again…
Congratulations on the great news. Remember that while it may take a short time to become pregnant the actual pregnancy takes a long time. Therefore, you should also take your time in shopping for just the right bike.
Craig: Hey, brother, long time no hear. Didn’t realize you had 4 girls; me too. They are doing well, ages 7, 5 (almost 6), 4, and 3. Here we are crossing the line together at this year’s Florida Half:
No Kona qualifiers (or other participants), nor their finishes, were harmed in the making of this photograph. (Although my crappy time was probably a dead giveaway for the Kona part of that statement.)
Big EE - congrats on the news. From here on out, keep the following facts/formulas in mind:
a. There is no bike problem known to man that cannot be resolved via the purchase of a new bike.
b. The right number of bikes to have in your garage is derived via a mathematical formula, as follows: n + 1 = Correct # of Bikes where n is a value equal to the number of bikes you own at present. Cheers,

congratulations…awesome news. May it be a smooth pregnancy and delivery.
My dad used to race in the 80’s he had an olmo, and masi with campagnolo record. He said that when i was born he sold the bikes and bought a schwinn supersport with a trailer. Man, what a guy, but now when he tells me that i shouldnt spend money on a 4000 dollar bike and that i should ssve money because i am in college, i just think, “hypocrite I want record components”.
Well, I’m a Cervelo guy (I guess I’m a Cervelo Fella, since ST already has Cerveloguy), so the Soloist sure looks like a candidate.
I guess I better start looking. I’ve got a P2K, and wouldn’t mind owning a P3SL, but I guess I’d rather keep my tri bike and add a nice road bike.
As far as the kid, I’ve got one of each (daughter Leah will be 4 next month, son Aaron is 18 months), so I’ll be thrilled with either flavor this time around.
I think the only thing I love better than new bikes are new kids. Bikes and kids. That’s really all you need to be happy in life.
I’ve watched my wife this month as she has been doing the countdown to my son leaving for college on monday. It’s going to be a rough weekend. She loves him so much and has a bond there that I will never understand. Not that I don’t love him, it’s just different.
Nice to hear from you… Four is great isn’t!!! I agreee with Football Mom we need to start some group our own tri group. Have your started wanting to do Tris yet. Mine did one a couple of weeks ago and I tell you I was more nervous than I ever was for my own… Maybe we should start some support group. Nice hearing from you…
