'Cause I am watching this week’s episode right now and, evidently, it is really damn easy to access the White House.
Now, I am a HUGE fan of 24 and I have been willing to suspend reality for all this time, but … Come on now, this is a little TOO ridiculous. WAY too easy to access the White House in this episode.
I hope the President uses some of that stimulus money to upgrade the defenses of the bulding…

How can you say that? After all, there was that half inch rebar grate and all those laserbeam sensors. Not to mention the mortarless brick wall. Sheesh!

Not the mention the incredible lack of automatic weapons by the first responders. Sheesh!
I have not watched a single episode. But I NEEEED something to keep me on the trainer through the late spring.
Would you recomend going to blockbuster and starting at the beginning for something to watch?
thanks
Absolutely and without question. Here is the beauty of 24 and, IMHO, the reason for its longevity and success: Each season is an ongoing story from one episode to another. BUT, each episode gives you a mini-conclusion and some closure. And, while the underlying story continues, the season is broken down into scenes, which wrap up, then build on one another. Unlike Lost and many other “series” shows, there are not a ton of details to recall and everything make sense.
I did not jump on board until season 2. I went back and rented Season 1 b/c I was hooked. But, I did not need to see Season 1 to be able to figure what was going on in Season 2.
I find the show highly entertaining with a good dose of cliff hangers. Yep, it is COMPLETELY over the top, but, you need to suspend reality and go with it.
The other thing I like about the show – they will kill off anyone, and (with the exception of Jack Bauer) I mean ANYONE.

Yes, without a doubt and without delay. For the entire mythology, start with season 1. But really, you can start with any season and have no problem following the action. Much like you, I missed out on 24 when it started and quite randomly picked up season one a few winters ago for trainer-time mitigation. I think I went through the first season in 3 days … I was like a junkie on a bender. And then there was season 2 … I’m caught up now, and now that Psych, Monk and Burn Notice are off the air, 24 is the only tv I watch.
I’ll add that unless you have iron-clad discipline, you may not want to start watching the show on a week night later in the evening. My wife and I stayed up until 3 am the first night ( on a week night), taking turns saying, “lets just watch one more episode - we HAVE to see how what happens next.” We went to bed when we ran out of episodes.
I saw this thread at midnight before I went to bed. BIG MISTAKE. Watched the current episode on Hulu at midnight and now this morning I went back as far as Hulu can go to watch an older episode. Guess what I will be doing this weekend…
