I can’t seem to find my original post about crazy names I created a year or 2 ago. It was based on kid names like La-a pronounced ladasha etc.
so here is my latest edition…
ABCDE= Ab see dah
True story. My Co worker delivered a baby and had a nurse share what another mother named her giirl.
also my other coworker personally knew a family with last name Hogg and mom named twin girls Ima and Youra. I’m not sure of spelling for the twins, just going with pronunciations.
My mom was a high school teacher in a very poor section of Indianapolis back in the late 60s. One of her students was pregnant and went into labor right at the end of the school day. My mom and another female teacher took her to the hospital. She gave birth. She decided to name the baby girl Vagina. She had never heard that word before and heard it for the first time during birth. She thought it was the most beautiful word she had ever heard. My mom and her friend begged the girl to change it to Ragina. She would not. So, the birth certificate read “Vagina.”

My wife told me about a little girl named A-A (pronounced Ah dash Ah).
We had a gentleman in these here parts arrested on suspicion of murder - his name was Dequarium.

While Ima Hogg is apparently a real person I can’t count the number of people, ok well I can there just would be alot of them so I haven’t, that I’ve know over the years that have claimed “I have a co-worker, friend, family member” that knows someone with an “Ima Hogg”, “Orange Jello” etc etc.
I suspect almost every case of these claims are merely urban legend.
OTOH people do name there kids odd names. My wife worked with the WIC and “Healthy moms and healthy kids” programs for 12 years. While no one named their kids “Jello” of “Ima” people just LOVED to throw seemingly any mish mash of constant and vowels together and call it a name. For some odd reason people REALLY loved to take a standard name and spell it different.

They think that it makes the name “unique”. When in reality it really just causes a lifetime of annoyance for the child who has to live with everyone spelling their name wrong.

Not saying your story isn’t true, but ABCDE is usually the first made up name in these threads. The origin of that name is a book (it may have been Malcolm Gladwell), and the author later admitted to making it up. No clue if people are actually naming their child that now.
I worked in inner-city Houston schools for 4yrs, I’ve seen some doosies: Just’in’love, C-Lo (and several other rapper names), Amazing Grace, and every single alcohol you’ve ever heard of. Also, my secretary threw a huge fit when she found out what her daughter named her new granddaughter: KARDASHIAN.

My story only has one source, and I actually trust my source.
My wife and I worked at the City Prosecutor’s office when we were in law school. We did intake on complaints that people would file. She really, truly, I’m being 100% serious guys, had a woman come in with two sons. They were named Lemonjello and Orangello.
But my favorite was the one I had that had a teenage son name Antjuan. She actually called him Ant-Juan. He corrected her and said his name was pronounced An-twan (or however you do the real one) and told me that as soon as he turned 18 he was changing it to Antoine.
Kids don’t really want to be named any damn thing and really are embarrassed when they get some jacked up name.

I had a client a few years back whose name was Eunique. She wasn’t.
I also had ad a dude abut a month ago named Dijon. He pronounced it de-shawn. He was kinda high maintenance and annoying so my staff referred to him as colonel mustard.

bless your mom, she sounds like a saint. But Ragina doesn’t quite ring like a chime either, lol.
