I got owned by my CT--or, I know for certain my FTP is NOT 385W

So after reading the IMC Rappstar thread I thought I would venture into the realm of the superhuman. I figured hey, I’m a type-A triathlete with a fire in my belly, I’m pretty good on the bike, had a couple cycling PR’s this season, and I know I can really kick some ass when I put my mind to it.

And so it was. About half-way through my interval session yesterday with my CT in erg mode I thought the time was right to test the 385W domain.

So I did.

And thats when I got owned by my CT.

385w is a big number for us mortals.

How long did you last?

I remember the first time I got a trainer with an ergo mode - Faris had just won IMHI average 275 - so I wanted to see what that felt like. Ouch.

Been there. Done that. Hurt a lot.

I’m happy to do that on my CT for VO2max intervals… I still cant’ believe that Boonen can hit up to 1800 watts. Yikes. Remember, it’s not watts that matter, it’s watts/kg. I’ll take a 135 lb stick pushing 385 watts any day over a crit 220 lb crit monster pushing 385 watts!
