Learn to swim so you won’t need one!
Much depends on the size of your calves. I was complaining of this same problem to a few of the guys after a practice swim. They stepped right out of theirs easily (few seconds) and in front of them I tried the same thing. It didn’t budge…and they couldn’t budge it. Also some have thin heels, some have wide heels. It’s a real problem. I’m beginning to like the zipper solution.
You guys need to learn about the wetsuit pogo http://forums.multisportal.com//index.php?showtopic=175
it is a transition dance specifically for removing your wetsuit.
STep on it only partly works for me–I still have to do the final part by sliding two fingers from each hand down behind the ankles. Keep in mind you are breathing heavy anyway, and now you are bent over breathing heavy and struggling. I like the zipper idea–who makes those installations. Why don’t we demand that from our wetsuit manufacturers???
Spray Pam (non-stick cooking spray) liberally on your legs AND on the outside of the wetsuit. That way, when you start “stomping” it off and the legs turn inside out, they’ll still be slicker’n hammered owl shit…
Comes off mui pronto.
I had a dive shop install 10" zippers at the heel.
I actually find it easier to push the wetsuit off the feet then to step and yank my legs out.
Promotion has 6" inch zippers running up the calf… Very easy to unzip and push my suit off… I have not issues and I’m ussually out of T1 within 1:30-2:00 depending on the distance between the exit and the bike…
