What the fuck is wrong with this company? All they have to do is move a box from one place to another, and drop it off at my door. How hard is it to walk up a flight of stairs, knock on a door, and wait 5 seconds for someone to answer? How hard is it to leave a notification on my door if I don’t answer and they have to leave my package at the front office? It’s absofuckinglutely amazing that I can pay extra for faster delivery, sit on my couch doing paperwork waiting for the package to come, then check the status only to find it’s was “delivered” sometime in the last hour despite the fact that noone knocked or left any kind of notification, and now the office is closed so I have to wait until tomorrow.
Is this package super-important? No. Do they know that? No. Does it matter, given that I paid extra to get it here today? No it fucking does not.

“Maybe they left it somewhere else in your building”
They could have left it at the bottom of the complex pool, who would know? All I know is that it says “delivered” on the tracking website. Since they didn’t leave anything on my door to make me aware of the delivery or where they left it, who the hell knows?
It’s even better when they sign for it themselves (on your behalf) too. I watched them deliver my stuff to another house once and checked online to find out that I’d signed for it. They hadn’t even knocked at the other house.
brown is the company that refused to pay an insurance claim on my MIL’s damaged painting claiming that the glass breaking was incidental during shipping.
Package arrived with a truck tire mark clearly across it. I guess backing over the package you were allegedly shipping is not covered by their insurance.
I used to do quite a bit of business with UPS, and always bought their insurance on packages. Things were hunky dory for a while, and then they started declining everyone of our insurance claims—for almost 1 straight year. Fair enough, I simply stopped paying them (we were doing about $10k a month with them), and when someone higher up in their collection division finally paid attention, I sent them the $20k+ in denied insurance claims & offered to settle either thru arbitration or court. Had my check in a week, paid them, and haven’t had a real problem since.
Whenever I think of UPS or FedEx, I am under the impression of “premium delivery service”. How wrong have I been. Both companies have let me down multiple times(both in my professional and personal deliveries), it’s not even funny. I’ve been shipping more with USPS but that’s not without issues either.
Frankly if I paid more for expedited delivery, I would raise holy hell if it didn’t arrive on time.

I think the quality of service varies quite a bit depending on where you live. Personally I will use UPS over any other companies if its an option for delivery. Cheap 3 day delivery is grrrreat. Also not sure if its an option or convenient for you, but I typically have all my packages sent to work where I know someone will be there to accept it even if we have the worst secretary ever who types with two fingers and is always in a bitchy mood. The way you feel about UPS is the same way I feel about USPS package handling.
