I almost hit a bear on my bicycle one time. He ran away from me real quick back into the woods. Real men don’t need no stinkin’ car to scare off a bear.

No permanent griz on Vancouver Island… the odd one swims over and gets shot by the Natives. This guy probably weighed 350lb or so, mature boar/sow. Would’ve made at least 100lbs of delicious pepperoni!
The car isn’t that dirty… it’s frosty. It was a balmy -3C this morning. I was going maybe 50km/h when I saw the brown nose jump out of the bush on passenger side of the road. I called the COs and they didn’t seem to concerned a hurt bear was within a mile of 3 schools and a half dozen parks. A bear in the same area apparently broke into a house and made off with the Christmas baking, but I’m not so sure about that story.
My guess is $8-10k in damage (the door is crinkled which I’m going to guess means the frame is crumpled) the car is worth maybe $15-18k… hoping for a write-off but not likely.
