I feel old & slow

SIGH!

We have a couple of customers who showed up at the store yesterday, fresh from the AAU National Cross Country Championships in FLA, with big ole medals and a results sheet that showed them to have finished Top 10 in their event.

They are twins and finished within a couple of seconds of each other. They averaged 5:54 pace for the 3K course after taking up running a whole 5 weeks ago…at 10 years old!

Sheesh! What’s this world coming to?

I’m sorta proud to have fit them in shoes…

G

Wow, that’s pretty amazing! Good for them for finding their niche so early in life. It took me 34 years to find triathlon!

By the way, if you’re “slow”, then what does that make the rest of us?!!

WOW! I guess we should all feel old compared to 10 year olds. Truly amazing that they are running that fast after 5 weeks…

Youth is wasted on the young!

Welll…you are old…

…but slow - no way girl!

Hope you’re doing well!!!

Getting older by the minute…but working on that speed.

Will be in the Valley for R 'n R next month…anybody wanna have lunch?

G

I’m doing the 1/2 again…slow as I am…and DEFINITELY up for lunch!!!

One year my nephew (14 at the time) called and asked if he could come to a race with me and run the 10 miile course. He said he’d start running every day to get ready- we were about 2 months from the race date. As it turns out he didn’t really run more than a couple of times in that 2 months, showed up to run 10 miles for the 1st time ever (this is a challenging trail run), won his division and was waiting for me at the finish.
